  11. First: Congrats Outlaw on the games performance!

    Next question:
    All: How are you guys choosing the weight you utilize for BBG when Rx’d is something like ”Heavy”? I really like the programming but struggle when I don’t have a percentage I can base the lifts on. Like would today’s be 85-90% of my Clean?

    I have checked through all 25 pages of the blog (and tried to take in Rudy’s notes) and the FAQ’s and haven’t really come across a definitive answer. I realize I am late to the party and If I missed the answer somewhere apologies. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

    • If you never fail, you aren’t going heavy enough. If you’re constantly failing, you’re going too heavy. Base it on what you’re been doing and figure it the fuck out.

    • I go in how I feel and move. Some days 90% feels fast, other days 80% feels impossible. If it feels “heavy” an you’re moving fast and the rep it tight, move up. If not go down.

    • Look at Rudy’s post from June 26th. It addresses exactly what he means by heaviest possible. Don’t use percentages because it will vary with mood, soreness, etc. It will also limit you from lifting the heavier weights you can acheive through improvements in strength and technique(you may reach a new snatch PR from the blocks that you wouldn’t have if you went 80% all the time until a scheduled “Max Effort” day.) Go as heavy as possible on the lifts with perfect technique. Don’t catch your cleans like Katie Hogan on the CrossFit Clean Ladder demo just so you can PR. Essentially this is just a different way of saying what Drywall said.

    PP- Went up to 225. This felt real good need to go higher next time no misses.
