Rest Day.

Your regularly scheduled programming nerd discussion will be back as scheduled tomorrow night. As for tonight; I’ve got to take care of some business items. (By the way, why didn’t one of you shithead bloggers tell me that numbering things was a horrible idea? I’ve got an uneven number of points and now I’m trying to make something up to make the numbers look cool and thought out. Thanks, dicks.)

-We have officially nailed down the dates and location for the Florida Training Camp. The dates are Friday, February 24th through Sunday, February 26th and the location is Real Fitness in Naples, FL.

This IS THE FIRST WEEKEND OF THE OPEN.

We WILL be doing the first Open WOD as part of this Training Camp, and we will make sure to moderate the volume of the rest of the camp so you will have no problems recovering for the week 2 of the Open. This camp will be more skill and coaching focused then the others, but will still provide a good “stimulus” if you’ve been “recovering” too much in the off-season. Those are the basics – here’s the cool part…

There will be AT LEAST FIVE Games competitors attending this camp, and our staff will include two specialty coaches AND the most popular man in the Dirty South – Brandon Phillips. The combination of the first Open WOD and the level of athletes attending will certainly make this feel like a mini-Regional. We will be doing a ton more than just beating the hell out of you. I will have a basic syllabus up next week, but we are planning on spending a ton of time on competition strategy, preparation, and coaching as much of the attending athlete’s movement as we can.

I previously mentioned that we would have to charge for this camp and we’ve decided on $199 for the weekend. We will ONLY have 20 spots open and they will be first come, first serve. If you’re one of those people who emailed and said you’d like to attend the Florida camp or if you would like to now, go ahead and email me – rudy@outlawcrossfit.com – to hold your spot.

-I don’t know how to say this (and I can’t believe I am) without sound like a douche. So here goes… Do to overwhelming demand (someone cockpunch me for saying that), I will not be able to return every email I get. I know this all sounds ridiculous, but many of the questions I have gotten have needed exceptionally long answers. By writing through the points of programming that I started last night, I am hopeful I’ll be able to answer all your questions. If you still have questions or need clarification on a WOD, go ahead and post your question to comments. Believe it or not, I have a group of coaches who have been with me for a long time and they will likely be able to answer before I can.

I swear to God, I am overwhelmed by all of your emails and by the amount of quality athletes who have jumped on board in the last two weeks. I want to talk to all of you and nerd out like the geek I am, and I will hopefully get to do that at one of our growing number of Training Camps. I feel like I need to apologize, but I just can’t keep writing dissertations every night. PLEASE, post your questions to comments and one of us will jump on and answer you. I know we have at least 5 dudes who have heard me rattle on about this stuff for hours, and those same dudes are trapped in offices all day waiting to show everyone how big their brains are.

-Finally… YES, you can follow this programming FOR FREE. And, NO you don’t have to tell me if you are following or ask my permission. All you need to do is post your daily work to comments and let us see how you’re doing.

This started as an experiment. It started as a way to gather data and prove efficacy of program. We’ve gotten our data now and we want more. We’ll figure out how to make money later.

Also, we want to win… EVERYTHING.

  1. Do you care about breaking up the different blocks of training? Strength in the afternoon and conditioning in the morning? Are you trying to stimulate, so to speak, a certain response out of doing all the work in one session?

    Thanks for putting your shit out there for free. Mark Twight could learn, or steal, something from you.

      There is no issue partitioning the workout throughout the day. Meaning strength in morning and conditioning in the evening but you should always do the strength portion first, if possible.
      Rudy educated me as he went on a nerdy tirade. He actually prefers if you break it up, but unless your a professional exercisers you may night have that ability. Work and all tends to get in the way. Basically, research shows there is a greater hormonal response but doing multiple workouts during the day. It’s why the bulgarians would do 3 sessions, to raise testosterone production.
